The Teravail Rutland is a great all-around tire that was designed with the unknown in mind.  It has ramped center lugs to help reduce rolling resistance, and more aggressive shoulder lugs to help stabilize and control grip in loose condition. Teravail's extra 'Durable Bead-to-Bead' technology consists of a robust woven nylon composite reinforcement between the outer rubber and the inner casing within the tire’s sidewalls; this helps to prevent tearing and abrasions. Additionally, there's a tightly woven layer of protection under the treadcap to defend against punctures.
